India is big and there are lots of interesting ways to travel around it, most of which could not very well be described as efficient or punctual. Allow considerable buffer time for any journey with a fixed deadline (eg. your flight back), and try to remember that getting there should be half the fun. By plane, the major points of entry are Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. For secondary points of entry to India, consider Goa, Kolkata or the Malabar coast. By boat, India has several international ports on its peninsula. Kochi, Mumbai, Goa and Chennai are the main ones handling passenger traffic. By car, from Pakistan the only land crossing is from Lahore to Amritsar via the Attari/Wagah border crossing.
