If you live in the USA you have probably gotten a phone call from a telemarketer wanting to sell you whatever it is they have for sale. Of course, if you don’t have a telephone, you’ve probably not had this happen. For the rest of us, it can be maddening. You sit down to eat, just get in the shower, starting to walk out the door or whatever, and the phone rings. Of course you run to answer it. You never know what the call might be about. Could be important!
You answer and you get: ‘This call is being recorded for quality control. Please stand by for the next available representative’ or some such spiel that you really don’t want to hear.
Did you know that there is a way to lessen, if not stop, these calls?
“The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.”
So how do you do register? Go to the National Do Not Call Registry and follow the instructions. Choose the “Register A Phone Number” option and fill out the form. It’s that simple.
I hope you have a great day … and less telemarketing calls. 🙂
