I would call this a place to see if you are in the area. A trip to the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forrest, Window Rock or just traveling on Interstate 40 in Arizona is good enough.
You will find the road to Meteor Crater at exit 233, Winslow, AZ. From there it is about five miles to the Visitor Center. There is an admittance fee. Once that is taken care of, you can visit the outdoor Astronaut Park exhibit and then move on into the indoor display area.
In the indoor area is information on how the crater was formed and other bits of information. There is a guided tour along part of the rim of the crater. That’s me on the rim. It is a big hole for sure! 🙂
If you are planning a vacation to Arizona this would be something to consider adding to the trip.
