I find reading to be fun, relaxing, interesting, entertaining and even (gasp!) educational at times. In the U.S.A. there is a day dedicated to reading. National Read Across America Day is an observance in the United States held on the school day closest to March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The concept is to get people to read, especially the youth.

If you are interested in Read Across America, the National Education Association might be of interest to you. There are resources to help plan a reading event and more available there. If you are on Facebook, try the Read Across America page there.
Some ideas could include:
- Visiting your local library to learn what they are planning for the day.
- Talk to family members about what they might like to read.
- Read the information here on County Station.
- Visit Project Gutenberg for reading material.
You don’t have to be in the U.S.A to read. Wherever you are, take time to read. Get a book, newspaper, magazine or other reading material and just read! It’s important!
